My friend Monique and I took Jack to a rollerskating competition at Oaks Park last Monday. It was actually kind of fun to watch, except for the revolting smell in the skating rink. I swear that place was at least 100 years old and smelled like a mix of vomit, cheeze-its, and W-D 40! Once we got past that , it was fun to watch Jack cheer on the skaters. A.J. even had a good time. While we were waiting for the competition to start we took the boys outside into the little amusement park. Jack could not go on any of the rides as the park was being used that day by schools for field trips, but he did get to waste a bunch of my money playing carnival games. He was so thrilled when he was awarded a small stuffed snake and cheap plastic vampire teeth. We ate ice cream and enjoyed the sun shine (and fresh air) until it was time to watch the skaters. Not a bad way to waste an afternoon with the boys.

You have been busy while I've been gone! I love all of your posts. It's so fun to have you in the blog world!
I thought the same thing when I went into that rink...although I didn't have those exact items to describe it like you did. Unfortunately....well, fortunately it closed 15 min before we went to go skate. Too bad for us! Doesn't surprise me though that Jack was there in a skating competition. That boy is fearless!
