BOO!

Halloween was a blast! We spent it at Nanna Mo and Grandads. They planned a Halloween party worthy of a layout in Family Fun magazine! Before we hit the streets for trick-or-treating, we bobbed for apples, played the Frankenstein foot-stomp, acted in a mini-melodrama (which the kids thought was hilarious), and ate a yummy dinner of soup and bread. Then we took the kids, (7 of them this year) trick-or-treating for about an hour. It was cute to see A.J. and Lydia who are both 2 figure this out for the first time. At first A.J. would not let go of his candy. He insisted of holding two pieces, one in each hand. Then he figured out that when he went to the next house he had to let go of a piece in order to score another. After three or four houses of swapping out his old two pieces for new ones he decided it really was better to dump his loot into the said "loot bag" and accumulate the candy instead of trading it. Lydia got the most candy of all because she looked so darn cute in her cheerleader outfit that people kept telling her to "take another sweetie". (This made the 9 year olds roll their eyes every time) One house had a really elaborate haunted house on their drive way that you had to go through to get to the door. It was actually pretty scary and must have had 20 or so people working inside of it. Jack of course led the way and Marnie and I were the "elected" adult supervision (the guys stayed outside with the little ones) it was great. After trick-or-treating we went back to Nanna's for ghost stories by flashlight with GiGi as voice and dry ice creating an eerie fog. We also played the game where you pass all the body parts around under a blanket and Nanna and Grandad laughed till their sides ached when the kids found out they had actually handled A REAL CALVES LIVER! We had such a great time and I don't think I heard one complaint when it was time for bed. Everyone was exhausted. Thanks for the effort Nanna and Grandad we love you!
