THE REASON WE MOVED

This is one of the main reasons we moved to the country........work! We wanted the boys to have real opportunities to learn to work and to work hard. It was really difficult to find projects other than pulling weeds that the boys could actually help with in our old neighborhood. It is awesome each Sat. morning to see the boys (mostly Caden, and Jack) working together to accomplish a meaningful task. These pics. were two weeks ago when we had a huge wind storm and a bunch of branches came down that had to be cleaned up. Ryan hacked them up with his new chainsaw (he has arrived) and the boys stacked up the logs for future burning during the summer campfire season. Don't get me wrong, although it appears very "Swiss family Robinson" there is still a LOT of grumbling and "I hate the country" and "we never had to do this at the old house" etc. etc. but I know that this is good for them and will serve them well in the future. A.J. will be working soon too, but for now he just lends his moral support to the boys and stays as far away from the "scury" (scary) chainsaw.
