WORKING THE LAND

We have officially started to make something of our property. We realize now after this initial step how truly lengthy this process is going to be. Ryan keeps on telling me "Alli, the joy is in the journey". If this is true then I can expect a lot of joy coming my way because there is going to be plenty of journey! Over the past year we have worked with a landscape architect to come up with a plan for our property. The final plan was delivered a couple of months ago and we were eager to begin our project which includes an enormous tree house, a fenced garden, lots of patio, paths and lawn and an outbuilding for all of Ryans creative needs (along with all the junk (excuse me EQUIPMENT) that go along with them. Anywho....we have a long, long, way to go. The first phase is to clear and grade the property which we started last week. I was under the impression that once this was done it would sort of be like a golf course without grass. UHHHH wrong! So, so wrong! It almost looks worse than it did before, but Ryan keeps on telling me this is all part of the process. It's a good thing I have faith in him. These pics. are of some of the big stuff being pulled up and of the initial shape of things taking place. Mostly to remember what we started with when we are enjoying our beautiful yard with family and friends.
