Ryan and I spent a heavenly weekend in Seattle. He was invited by the Angle society to attend their bi-annual meeting and present 3 cases in hopes of being invited back to become an affilitate member and then in three more years hopefully a full fledged member. I just went along for the time alone and the time alone with him. YUM! We took the train and it was so nice just to visit and not worry about paying attention to the road while driving. While he attended his meetings, I slept in, read the paper and had chocolate croissants in bed, worked out for as long as I wanted and caught up on journaling and reading. On Friday night we were able to go to dinner with my life long friend Tyler and his wife Annie. It was so much fun catching up with them, and reconnecting. Ryan had never met Tyler and it was wonderful to finally introduce them. Tyler and Annie have a great life in Seattle and took us to some of the local hot spots. We ate dinner at this amazing Asian fusion restaurant and then we went to a hip little chocolate cafe for dessert. The most outstanding hot chocolate ever!
We loved not being on a strict schedule and spent Sat. afternoon wandering around downtown Seattle and people watching. The weirdos come out in droves on a sunny Sat. afternoon there. I was reminded how much I love being with Ryan and how I will welcome the day that we have more time to spend alone. Our darling boys who all came down with fevers, coughs and snotty noses in the two days we were gone were awaiting our arrival home though and so the weekend wrapped up with a long game of scrabble on the train back to our reality.

Looks like so much fun! That sounds like something Nathan and I need to try. I especially like the chocolate croissants in bed part! Too Fun!
